Today in Baku (Republic of Azerbaijan), the delegation headed by the Minister of the Interior Dailis Alfonsas Barakauskas was accepted by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Later, the meetings with the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ramil Usubov and the Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan Kamaladdin Heydarov took place.

During the meetings, the issues of bilateral cooperation in the area of internal affairs were discussed. The parties considered the Treaty on Readmission between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the European Union and further steps of its formalization, the issues of development of the EU and Azerbaijan partnership in the area of mobility.

On the institutions of internal affairs systems level, perspectives of cooperation were discussed. The Fire and Rescue Department under MoI plans to broaden the cooperation with the Azerbaijan colleagues, the Police Department under MoI intends to continue cooperation between the police structures in the Eastern Partnership format. The issues of cooperation of the Service of State Border Guard under MoI and Financial Crime Investigation Service under MoI with appropriate institutions of Azerbaijan were considered as well.
