“After Lithuania having restored its independence, the law enforcement institutions of the United Kingdom were among the first ones to establish cooperation contacts with Lithuanian partners. I am pleased that professional cooperation of law enforcement services continues and even becomes more intense. Today we work together on both bilateral and European level challenges – terrorism threat and illegal migration,” – the Minister said to the ambassador.

During the meeting at the ministry, opportunities of further development of cooperation were discussed, an exchange of opinions on issues of trafficking in human beings and migration took place.

Herewith, we would like the illegal migration problem to be tackled separately from protection of Southern or Eastern Eu external border protection. It is a protection of all European Union’s border.
