Following today’s extraordinary meeting of the Government Emergency Commission chaired by Minister of the Interior Agnė Bilotaitė, the Government has approved the Commission’s proposal concerning restrictions on the movement of persons between municipalities until 31 January 2021.
The Government has made the decision taking into account the expert analysis of the pandemic situation, which shows that the situation in Lithuania is still very serious despite the reduced mobility of the population during the holiday period.
At present, according to experts, Lithuania remains among the leading countries in terms of the prevalence of COVID-19 within the population.
The Government decision may be reviewed in two weeks on January 17, in the light of the latest COVID -19 morbidity and mortality data and trends in the country.
