The project to enhance the professionalism of the civil service in Georgia was launched

The Kick-off meeting of the EU Twinning project „Support to Implementation of the Civil Service Reform in Georgia“ was held in Tbilisi Georgia on 19 February. 

Supported by the EU Twinning programme, the project is aimed to enhance the professionalism of the civil service in Georgia in line with the EU Principles of Public Administration.

Throughout the project, the experts coming from the Government of Lithuania, Ministry of the Interior, Civil Service Department under the Ministry of the Interior and European Social Fund will transfer to Georgian colleagues good practices of the MS in the area of civil service and public administration. 

The event gathered more than 80 representatives of the governments of Georgia and Lithuania, Georgian public sector, international organisations, civil society and academia.

Lithuania in the kick-off event was represented by Vice Minister of the Ministry of the Interior Mr. Česlovas Mulma, Chancellor of the Government Mr. Algirdas Stončaitis, Vice Chancellor of the Government and Project leader Mr. Alminas Mačiulis, Director of the Civil Service Department Mr. Gediminas Miškinis as well as experts from the Lithuanian institutions.
