The Minister of the Interior Dailis Alfonsas Barakauskas, the Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Latvia Rihards Kozlovskis and the Minister of the Interior and Regional Affairs of the Republic of Estonia Hanno Pevkur signed the Trilateral Agreement to Set up the Expert Coordination Committee.

The Agreement between the Lithuanian and Latvian ministries was signed yesterday in Riga, today it was confirmed by the signature of the Estonian minister.

According to this Agreement, it is planned to set up an expert level committee which would coordinate the actions of the institutions responsible for public order and internal security if threat for public safety of the countries Parties of the Agreement arises. Within two weeks after the date of this Agreement, the countries will have to appoint representatives who shall draft the legislation determining the scope of competence and actions of the Committee.

The Agreement was signed during the visit of the Minister of the Interior Dailis Alfonsas Barakauskas to Latvia and Estonia.

Yesterday the minister also visited Riga Police Headquarters where he got acquainted with the activity of the Latvian police and its reform.
