Martynas Katelynas Appointed Lithuania's Minister of the Interior
Martynas Katelynas officially assumes office as Lithuania's Minister of the Interior.
The official handover ceremony took place in the White Hall of the Ministry of the Interior. Outgoing Minister Vladislavas Kondratovičius presented the Ministerial portfolio to Mr Katelynas, who was sworn in as a member of Lithuania's twenty-first Government.
Addressing the Ministry's staff, Minister M. Katelynas expressed his commitment to close cooperation and encouraged everyone to work together towards achieving the highest professional standards and results.
Minister M. Katelynas holds a Master's degree in Chemistry from Vilnius University. Before his appointment as Minister of the Interior, he began his political career in the Chancellery of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, serving as a parliamentary assistant. From 2019 to 2024, he was a member of the Varėna District Municipal Council, and in 2024 he was elected to the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania.
